Another pre-Colombian historical site threatened by progress
You can see pictures of this archaeologoical site at the website set up to provide more information on the problem: Save Santo Domingo, Peru.
Crossroads somewhere between Peru and the Web
I thrive when exploring new realms of knowledge and experience.
La Esquina del Movimiento (roughly meaning Street Buzz or, literally, the Corner of Movement) is just outside the University Rector's Office on the main square of Ayacucho, or Huamanga to those who love it best. It got that name because it's where the students, professors and pueblerinos gathered to read the Lima newspapers, talk politics and taste life. It was the epicenter of Huamanga's vitality before the violence of the '80s and early '90s ravaged the town. Now Huamanguinos, Peruvians and Peruvians at heart are scattered around the world so this page -- and website -- tries to imitate that magic.
